Keeping You Up-To-Date With Information About Sage 100
From the Desk of the Sage 100 Consulting Manager, Lisa Margolies
As we head into the Fall, I wanted to take this opportunity to recap the messaging around TLS, and now TLS 1.2 compliancy for Sage 100 that you have been seeing from Sage and Net at Work. For those not yet compliant, there are some cut-off dates quickly approaching that I want to be sure you are mindful of.
I know this past year has been difficult with Sage and Net at Work contacting our clients about being compliant with 1.2. I’m sure you are asking what is TLS and why do I need it.
TLS stands for Transport Layer Security. TLS is a protocol that is used to secure data sent over a network and is designed to prevent data from being tampered with. The TLS protocol aims primarily to provide security, including privacy, and secure the transmission and delivery of data.
You need to be complaint with TLS since Sage will end support of TLS 1.0 and 1.1 for online communications by October 1, 2023. Sage servers will stop accepting communication from Sage 100 products using TLS 1. And 1.1 on October 1, 2023. In addition to Sage’s October 1 date, each client’s date for TLS depends on their subscription renewal date.
If you have payroll or on a monthly subscription with Sage, again, I know that the above may be confusing and the bottom line you want to know is ‘what does this mean for you.’
If you are using a Sage version that is not TLS 1.2 compliant, your version will turn to be read-only.
Please find below the versions and versions and their corresponding product updates that are TLS 1.2 compliant (not only do you need to be on a specific version, but you need to be on the product update indicated below OR HIGHER). It should be noted that TLS 1.2 compliance is only required if a client is on Sage’s subscription (Sage 100c, a monthly subscription or has payroll)
Version: | Product Update: |
2018 | Product Update 10 |
2019 | Product Update 4 |
2020 | Product Update 1 |
2021 | N/A – all Product Updates are compliant |
2022 | N/A – all Product Updates are compliant |
If you are not sure what version or what product update you have, PLEASE e-mail your account manager (see list below) your installed module listing using the following steps:
To print out the installed module listing, select the following menu options:
- Modules
- Library Master
- Reports
- Installed Modules Listing (3rd item from the top)
You may print out the installed module listing to a pdf and then e-mail me back. Once we receive the installed application listing, we will be able to identify if anything needs to be performed to get your company to be TLS 1.2 compliant.
Please do not wait on this as we currently have a backlog of upgrade projects and want to make sure we get to everyone in time.
