Changes to the Sage Partner Program – A Recap
I recently wrote about the “Perfect Storm” of challenges that Sage resellers are contending with as they navigate through a market with the pandemic as the backdrop. That article highlighted the end of the Sage Advocate program, in which many small to mid-sized partners participated.
Changes to the Sage Partner Program for FY21
Earlier this week, Sage announced new changes to the Partner Program for FY21 that are sure to impact all partners. The impact will be viewed as positive by some and not so positive by others, but everyone will certainly be impacted. If you were not one of the hundreds of resellers attending the call here is a summary of some of the changes announced:
- New Customer revenue requirement added – for example $10K added to Standard tier that must come from new customers
- Margin adjustments effective April 1, 2021 – dropping 10% to 20% on perpetual
- Product multipliers removed for Sage HRMS, Fixed Assets, BusinessVision and BusinessWorks
- Sage will no longer provide Sales Support for Sage HRMS or Fixed Assets
- Sage Intacct will count towards Mid-Market solutions tier thresholds
- Sage Partner Cloud will count toward tier thresholds (not yet available)
