The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Job Responsibilites: Maintain documented system of accounting policies and procedures, oversee operations of accounting department and design organizational structure to optimize the department's goal and objectives, oversee accounting operations of subsidiary corporations- especially their control systems, transaction processing operations and policies and procedures, issue financial statements, coordinate preparation of corporate annual report, recommend benchmarks to measure the performance of company operations, calculate and issue financial and operating metrics, calculate variances from budget and report significant issues to management, manage production of annual budget and forecasts, prepare system of management cost reports, provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations, coordinate annual audit with external auditors, monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants, ensure compliance with local state and federal government requirements and tax filings, maintain the chart of accounts, maintain system of controls over accounting transactions, monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed. Qualifications:
